1) Frames a. Any production or custom frame built for racing allowed. b. Must be made of steel tubing. c. No aluminum or titanium.
2) Body a. Steel, aluminum, or fiberglass body required. b. A wing may be run on roof that is limited to 3"X 3" with 16" sideboards. c. The body must be painted and the numbers must be legible with contrasting colors. The side number needs to be 8" in height, and the front 5” tall and rear numbers need to be 4" tall. d. Small Front wing Allowed
3) Suspension a. Front suspension is allowed. b. Rear suspension is allowed. c. Only one shock and spring per wheel.
4) Electrical a. Electronic gages are allowed on all motors in all classes. b. The kart must have two kill switches with one being in the driver’s reach and one on the rear roll bar up high in right hand corner.
5) Bumpers and Nerf Bars a. Front bumper is required with 1" o.d. max tubing. b. Rear bumper is required with 1" o.d. max tubing. c. Nerf bars are optional, but they must be a max of 1" o.d. tubing and cannot extend past the outside of tires d. Bumpers and nerf bars must have rounded ends. e. There are not to be any sharp edges on the kart whatsoever.
6) Roll Cage a. A roll cage is required. b. Top roll bar must extend 2" or more above drivers helmet. c. Roll cage must be made of 3/4" o.d. steel tubing. No conduit is allowed. d. Roll cage must be securely mounted to the frame. e. The roll cage needs padding in the driver’s compartment on all bars.
7) Wheels a. Any steel wheel allowed. b. Any aluminum wheel allowed. c. Wheel spacers are allowed.
8) Tires a. Any rubber tire allowed. b. Any size tire allowed. c. Tire grooving allowed.
9) Fuel a. Gasoline only in Classes 1-4. b. Methanol only in Class 5 & 6. c. Pumped Gasoline is OK.
10) Clutches a. No disc or wet type clutch of any kind. b. Direct drive IN Class 6 only. c. Must have a working clutch.
11) Drive Train a. May be single wheel pull. b. Live axle is allowed. c. Must be chain or belt driven. d. 1 1/4" steel or Aluminum axle allowed. e. Any wheel hub is allowed.
12) Brakes a. Minimum of one wheel brake in good working order is required. b. Hydraulic disc rear brakes on both tires is highly recommended
13) Seats and Belts a. Seats must be mounted to kart frame in a secure manner with class 5 or better 5/16" dia.bolts. b. Racing seat to fit the driver is mandatory with head and shoulder supports such as the Kirkey, Butler, D&M Performance racing seat. c. 5 point- 2" webbing safety belts are mandatory such as RJS, Simpson, G-Force, and Ultra-shield. d. A firewall between driver and engine is recommended.. e. A quick release steering wheel is recommended. f. Steering wheel cushion is mandatory.
14) Engine Safety a. No Cast Aluminum Flywheels. b. Flywheel covers need to have a ” inspection hole for KART Officials during Tech. c. 2- throttle return springs are mandatory.
