The program is offered and promoted by Terry Hurst and the Hurst Racing Team. “Races for Kids” is sanctioned by KART, which stands for Karting Association of Racing Teams. KART is a non-profit organization of the Hurst Racing Team, in addition, KART officials will be appointed by the Hurst Racing Team and Redbud Raceway, Inc. The directors of KART will be the officers. These officers will be responsible for making and amending rules, adopting policies, procedures and regulations, and recommend safety for the betterment of the “Races for Kids’ program, as well as, finding ways to improve the organization of KART. The officer’s actions are final.
Redbud Raceway is the fastest, safest, and smoothest track in Texas. When a kid leaves this program he is knowledgeable of speed, safety, and skills enough to move up in the higher ranks of racing without any problem. We teach kids how to race without a lot of contact. We teach kids how to race, not how to bully their way around the track with their bumpers.
2009 Warning: If you come to Redbud with the intent to use your bumper, get ready for the black flag after the warning has been given to you by the flagmen.
